This week’s book club selection is on habits. Shane picked The Healthy Habit Revolution: Create Better Habits In 5 Minutes A Day by Derek Doepker. Creating habits changes how we do and look at things. Habits ultimately become things that we do on a regular basis without thinking. They become an unconscious part of what we do.
Shane’s idea was to hold each of us accountable for the habit we pick to create or stop. Great idea! As you read this month’s book selection and decide on the habit you wish to change, keep the first three habits in The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People in mind. They are great habits in helping you not only accomplish what you want, but also select the habit you want.
Habit 1: Be Proactive. Focus on the things you can actually do something about. Change starts from within.
Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind. Begin everything you do with a clear picture of your ultimate goal.
Habit 3: Put First Things First. Manage your life according to your needs and priorities.

About Friday Food for Thought (FFfT)
I frequently attend conferences and retreats on entrepreneurship and leadership and while I am away, the J2 team picks up the slack, allowing me to learn to be better at what I do. I wanted to share what I was learning with my team, so I created the weekly FFfT emails in November of 2015 and have been writing them ever since.
