“Never put off for tomorrow, what you can do today.”  —Thomas Jefferson

We tend to procrastinate for various reasons: Fear of failure, doing an unpleasant task, lack of self-confidence, etc. The list goes on and on.

I recently read a post from a friend that asked, “Why not today?” Very good question.

Are you afraid to fail? But what if we succeed. You’ll never know till you try. Imagine how that will make you feel.

Is the task unpleasant? Will it be any better tomorrow or the next day? Remember the advice almost every parent gave? Rip off the bandage quickly. ☺

Do you lack self-confidence? Imagine the confidence you will gain when you finish the task and do it well.

Visualize all the things you can accomplish—both simple and complex—if you start finishing tasks instead of putting them off.

“You may delay, but time will not, and lost time is never found again.”—Benjamin Franklin

Have a great weekend.

About Friday Food for Thought (FFfT)

I frequently attend conferences and retreats on entrepreneurship and leadership and while I am away, the J2 team picks up the slack, allowing me to learn to be better at what I do. I wanted to share what I was learning with my team, so I created the weekly FFfT emails in November of 2015 and have been writing them ever since.

Before long, the J2 staff began sharing the FFfT emails with their friends and family and now other leaders have asked to be included, which led to the creation of this newsletter. I hope you enjoy!
