Last week I attended a conference, the theme of which was “Jugaad.” Jugaad is a Hindi slang word that has several meanings: frugality; doing more with less; thinking and acting flexibly. Jugaad isn’t about being cheap, but about being resourceful. It’s about doing the best with what you have, not about spending the least. It’s an “innovative hack.”
Today we are always looking for shortcuts. The faster we can do something, the better. Be it taking a product or service to market, raising money, losing weight, gaining weight… no matter what, we are looking for the most efficient way of doing things.
At J2, we bring in all our experiences to manage projects. We’re not afraid to leverage processes from industries not related to our own because we’ve learned over time that no one way is the best. This is the embodiment of our philosophy, Flexology. It is a flexible methodology; we do the most that we can with all the knowledge we have gained, and we pride ourselves on our creative and targeted solution.

“I think frugality drives innovation, just like other constraints do. One of the only ways to get out of a tight box is to invent your way out.” – Jeff Bezos
What is your Jugaad? Share it with us.
Have a great weekend.

About Friday Food for Thought (FFfT)
I frequently attend conferences and retreats on entrepreneurship and leadership and while I am away, the J2 team picks up the slack, allowing me to learn to be better at what I do. I wanted to share what I was learning with my team, so I created the weekly FFfT emails in November of 2015 and have been writing them ever since.
Before long, the J2 staff began sharing the FFfT emails with their friends and family and now other leaders have asked to be included, which led to the creation of this newsletter. I hope you enjoy!
