One of our previous FFfT highlighted the value of creating goals. Visualizing them is the next step in making them come alive.
Visualization is one of the most powerful mind exercises you can do. According to the popular book The Secret, when you think about something and visualize it, you project positive energy into the universe, allowing the universe to align events that directly and indirectly support the attainment of your goals. I believe Dave called this the reticular activating system. When you start thinking of something, you start seeing more of it.

Whether you believe that or not, visualization has been proven to work. Last week we discussed creating a vision board—a powerful exercise in visualization.
There is no secret to creating a vision board–it’s simple! Your vision board should be whatever you want it to be. It does not have to be just material things, it can also be about how you want to feel.
What should I put on my vision board? Anything that inspires and motivates you. Think about what your goals are in the following areas: relationships, career, finances, home, travel, personal growth (including spirituality, social life, education), and health. Aim high. You are limited only by your thoughts and imagination. If you don’t feel like you are shooting high enough, here is a great list of 50 thoughts that can motivate you to do anything.

About Friday Food for Thought (FFfT)
I frequently attend conferences and retreats on entrepreneurship and leadership and while I am away, the J2 team picks up the slack, allowing me to learn to be better at what I do. I wanted to share what I was learning with my team, so I created the weekly FFfT emails in November of 2015 and have been writing them ever since.
Before long, the J2 staff began sharing the FFfT emails with their friends and family and now other leaders have asked to be included, which led to the creation of this newsletter. I hope you enjoy!
