Appreciation

I usually save posts about gratitude for November, but last week I was reminded of how lucky I am to be part of such a supportive community. Almost immediately after last week’s FFfT, many of you started reaching out to ask if I was okay or if I needed anything (including a ride to the hospital). I also got to hear your own stories and experiences which made me feel supported and valued. To the people who have already reached out, I know it may have felt like a simple gesture, but to me, it was priceless. I am grateful for each of you.

This reminded me that the small gestures, which so often get overlooked as we juggle all that this crazy world throws at us, can be incredibly impactful to both the giver and receiver. Some folks reached out to me during their vacations, and others reached out as they themselves were healing or dealing with difficult times. The value of these gestures is priceless.

I am truly blessed and grateful for your outreach of love and support. Your words have given me a more positive mindset. I now feel better equipped to handle this challenge knowing all of you are in my corner.

I’m challenging you to reach out to someone this weekend. Extend a helping hand or make plans to catch up over a cup of coffee or a cocktail.

“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.” – John F. Kennedy

What small gestures did someone do for you that positively impacted your mindset? I’d love to hear from you.
