Why Make Mountains?

We’ve all heard the idiom, “making mountains out of molehills” and likely have used it at some point; it’s almost certain that we have all even done it ourselves. It’s an odd saying but gives a good visual to describe over reactive behavior disproportionate to the event that caused it.  Have you ever tried to climb a mountain made from a molehill?

Rules… Break Them

Rules, rules, so many rules! There are so many rules we are supposed to follow, it’s nearly impossible to navigate them all successfully. We’ve all heard of the “golden” rule; “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”.  But did you know there is a “platinum” rule, “to do unto others as they’d want done unto them”, a “silver” rule, “do not do unto others what you would not have them do unto you” and apparently a “bronze” rule, “If they are not bothering you, don’t bother them.”  Too many rules, why can’t we all just follow one simple “Vijay” rule which is simply “do your best to do the right thing at all times”? 😊 Remember, I like things to be simple.

Blessing or a Curse?

The Chinese certainly have a sense of humor and are very good at hidden meanings.  I recently came across the 3 Chinese Blessings that are actually meant to be curses.  After reading them I realized that like most things, there is wisdom behind these sayings, and in some respects, it’s all about your perspective!
