Welcome to the PULSE!
Here we are at the start of the summer, and we are starting to see some glimmers of normalcy. As we come out the other side of this beast that has ruled our lives for the last year and a half, I believe it is safe to say there was some good that came out of it all. Yes, it was a horrible time, one that our children—and our children’s children—will read about in the history books for years to come. But it also served as a catalyst for positive change.
Over the past quarter, we turned our attention to the post-COVID workforce. In April’s article, The “New Face of the Modern American Workforce,” Sanjay shined a light on some of the unique trends we’re seeing in 2021—from redefining what “work from home” really means to incentivizing employees to take vacations, and more.
As employers continue to ride the wave of change, diversity and inclusion have taken center stage. In “How the Remote Workplace Supports Inclusion,” Sanjay talks about the impact the remote workforce has had on creating a more inclusive workplace. Yes, COVID was terribly disruptive. But some good came out of it—there’s no denying that.
Of course, where would we all be without our weekly nuggets of insight and wisdom from Vijay? This quarter, he reminded us to keep brainstorming new ideas, celebrate life—even the boring parts— and practice like a team but play like a champ! He also encouraged us to take a step back and reconsider our approach to a disagreement, have the courage to take that daunting first step and the confidence to complete the journey and dance as if no one is watching to achieve our goals. For more inspiration, check out Vijay’s Friday Food for Thought posts here.
We are thrilled to report that we had our first in-person team lunch this quarter! Zoom is great, and it got us by, but it simply can’t compare to seeing one another in the flesh! Speaking of in-person events, Vijay and Nick were excited to be able to participate in last month’s Life Sciences Pennsylvania’s Premier Tailgate, where they connected (and reconnected) with members of the community!
