I love this time of year, although, I would prefer warmer weather. But even with the chill in the air, most people are happy and kind towards others. It’s a time to unplug, unwind and enjoy time with family and friends. The best part is that many of us let our guards down and act like kids again around loved ones. I say many of us because I’m a kid year-round! 😊 It’s also a time when we think back to holidays past, the fun we had, the food we enjoyed, the “all out” decorations and the family we celebrated with. It seems like every year those past celebrations seem to get bigger and more lavish in our memories.
I recently heard someone talk about the “good ‘ole days” and at first, wondered, “were they really the good old days?” If we think about our society today compared to 50 years ago and the advancements made, it was a very different time. In many ways, it was a simpler time. But as I thought about it more, I realized that person was right. The “good ‘ole days” were good to that person since that is how they remember them. I have no doubt that years from now I will look at this holiday season as part of my own “good ‘ole days.”
So, since it’s always best to plan for the future in the present, I plan to spend this holiday season making great memories with my family and friends so I can remember this time as exceptional. I hope you do the same!
